Project 1: Comic Strip

1) Warm-up: Answer the following questions in your notebook:

3) We will beginning out first project with SNAP! Please read ALL the specifications for the project before you begin. Highlight the specs and take notes. Project 1: Comic Strip Specifications

1.4 Time to Move! / Project Prep

Goals:
  • Use costumes and movement to create simple SNAP animations
  • Use the next costume and switch to costume blocks (under Looks palette) to change the appearance of a sprite.
  • Use the broadcast and when I receive blocks (under Control palette) and show how they can be used to coordinate action between sprites.
  • Here are more detailed notes on the subject: 1.4 Lesson - Costumes, Broadcasting, and Movement
  • The example below will be used in class:

  2. Find an appropriate comic for your first project.

    - You should complete the fill-in-the-blank portion and submit through canvas.
    - You should also complete a SNAP! program and submit  it in canvas.

Lab 0.2 Programming Languages

Reminders! 
-Remember to sign up for a SNAP! account. We will need it soon.  
-Tomorrow you will code a getting to know you activity. 

0. Programming Languages
1.. Work through the LightBot Hour of Code activity.
2. 
Turn off the music.
3. When you finish lightbot, take a screenshot of a completed level 3 when you have completed all levels. Submit the image for proof that you have completed the assignment (instructions for taking a screen shot with a PC or a MAC are included here).
4. When you return, be prepared for questions about what you are doing or an exit slip relating to the exercise.


Note, as another option to take a screenshot, I usually use the "snipping tool" for pc. Try it out if you like. 
1. Once you have a rectangle around where you would like to snip, save the picture.
2. Submit the picture to canvas.

CAPTURING A PARTIAL SCREENSHOT

Chrome OS can also specify a portion of your screen to take and save a snapshot of. Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys at once, then press the Switch windowbutton.
Step 2: Chrome’s cursor will be temporarily replaced with a crosshair. Click and drag a square across the portion of the screen you want to save, then release the trackpad or mouse button.
The partial screenshot will be saved in the Downloads folder, the same as a full screenshot.
